Sandy Rosales is a 4th year undergradute student majoring in Nutritonal Science: Physiology and Metabolism. Her current research project focuses on engineering the type III secretion system in Salmonella to increase yields of foreign, folded proteins secreted into rich media.

Araceli Beltran is majoring in Conservation and Resource Studies with an emphasis on sustainable agriculture and ethnobotany. Her hometown is in the Coachella Valley, she aspires to become a naturalistic physician and work in agricultural research.

Olivia Rodriguez is intending to major in Nutritional Science (B.S.) with a focus in Physiology & Metabolism. She is from Thermal, CA a rural town in the Eastern Coachella Valley. She plans to pursue a career as a pediatric surgeon and a family physician to address the physician shortage in her hometown. She is also interested in advocating for changes in health policy to address health disparities in under served communities.
